Epaulette finished second behind the great mare, while last start The Galaxy winner Bel Sprinter placed a gallant third.

Black Caviar was paying odds of $1.16 to win the 2013 TJ Smith Stakes at bookmaker.com.au, amazingly marking some of the longest odds of her career.

This latest win has taken Black Caviar’s prize money to almost $8 million.

Trainer Peter Moody was full of relief after the race was run.

“It’s the best field she’s ever met they tell me,” Moody said.

“I’m just really pleased that she put on one hell of a show.

“I’m just really proud of her.

“She’s a mighty horse.

“She’s broken three or four records here today.

“Horses look fast until they line up against her.

“She’s just continued to get the job done.

“I wouldn’t say that’s the best but as I suggested before the race this is as good as she’s gone.”

Jockey Luke Nolen was full of praise for the wonder mare after she pulled off her latest race win in the 2013 TJ Smith Stakes.

“We sprung well,” Nolen said.

“I found a nice spot which was going to one of the most difficult thing drawing one.

“They didn’t protect her in Sydney and she still kicked their arse.

“I thought overall it was close to her most grand performance.

“She had to earn it.”
